“Window gallery” of Järvikulma Driving School
Keskusaukio 4, Kangasala

01.05.2019 – 31.05.2019

In May, a traveling exhibition dedicated to the anniversary of Lennart Meri is exhibited in Kangasala, Häme County, and it is displayed at a rather exciting place, namely, at the “window gallery” of Järvikulma Driving School, which is visible to all passers-by around the clock.

Lennart Meri (1929–2006) would have turned 90 years old on March 29, 2019. The Estonian Institute’s exhibition ‘Terävä katse, terävä kynä’ shows the president and the founder of the institute as a good talker with amusing use of words. The exhibition that consists of dozens of quotes and some well-known photos includes a guest book, where visitors can write their memories of Lennart Meri and greetings for the archives.

In September, the exhibition will travel to Akaa, in December to Tampere and in January to Oulu, but reservations can still be made. The exhibition has been put together in co-operation with the Association of Estonia-Societies in Finland and it is exhibited in Kangasala thanks to the local NGO Kangasala Räpinologit.

NB! In May, there will be Estonian movie nights with the screenings of ‘The Little Comrade’ at Kangasala-talo and the Kangasala Library will display an exhibition about Estonia from their collections.
