The exhibition “Design without Borders” taking place at Budapest’s spring festival displays the works of four Estonian designers – Mihkel Mölder and Joonas Torim (both from Oot-Oot Studio) and Monika Järgi and Jaanus Orgusaare.

The exhibition consists of two parts: “madeinhungary”, which is held for the 12th time already this year, and “MeeD – Meeting of European and Central European Designers”, which takes place for the fifth time. “Design without Borders” involves almost 100 designers from 11 countries. The exhibition, organised by textile artist Szilvia Szigeti and interior designer Tamás Radnóti, showcases the independent work and collections by Czech, Danish, Estonian, Finnish, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Slovakian and Swedish furniture, textile, industrial, and interior designers.

The exhibition highlights both mass production as well as items manufactured in small quantities that shift the boundaries of genre. One of the objectives of the curators is to represent innovative and versatile contemporary design, which is why the exhibition displays both ingenious works reflecting the designer’s individual approach as well as works taking into consideration the current trends.

The exhibition is opened on March 31, 2017 by the director of the International Visegrad Fynd, Beata Jaczewska.

The display can be visited during five weeks at 10-18 every day, excluding Mondays.
