Seminar “Finland and Estonia 200 – a common future”
Helsinki City Hall
Pohjoisesplanadi 11-13, Helsinki
27.01.2018 12:00
During the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the independence of Finland and Estonia, it is important to look at the future. Cooperation between the two countries continues also after the jubilee year, but how?
The seminar will discuss the cooperation between the two countries from different perspectives. Is a twin city possible? What about the tunnel connecting Helsinki and Tallinn? What are the common and distinguishing innovations between Finland and Estonia? What is the future of languages and the environment? Is the population of Finland and Estonia changing? What is a cross-border lifestyle?
The programme consists of a brief introduction, comments and two panel discussions. Guests can ask questions.
The seminar will feature Johanna Leinonen, Kai Myrberg, Jaan Praks, Janne Saarikivi, Toomas Tärk and Peter Vesterbacka.
No previous registration is needed and participation is free of charge.
The seminar belongs to the side programme of the exhibition “Bridge” which is part of the official EV100 programme.
